Start at the first parking lot for Rancho San Antonio. Cross the bridge at the main trailhead and start climbing straight up the gravel fire road. Turn left at the next junction towards the iron fence. Continue onwards, climbing up and up. There are some short descents thrown in the mix, but all must be gained again with steep climbs. There are great views at the end where a bench awaits your tired legs.
On the Coyote Trail.
Looking out towards the PG&E Trail. It isn't over until the last Electrical tower off in the distance.
Looking back from the trail-head end of the long flat on Rancho Ridge Loop.
Morning fog in the mountains.
Sunrise with clouds over the valley
