Beta expectations
Trails is offered as a beta product. That means features, data coverage, and interface details may change without notice while the product is being improved.
The service may be temporarily unavailable, incomplete, or inaccurate. Use it with that expectation in mind.
Trail safety and accuracy
Trail descriptions, route shapes, distances, elevation figures, access details, and linked source material are provided for general planning only. They may be outdated, wrong, or incomplete.
You are responsible for checking current closures, local regulations, weather, wildfire impacts, land ownership, permits, and your own readiness before heading out. Outdoor travel involves real risk, and Trails is not a substitute for local judgment or official guidance.
Accounts and acceptable use
- Use your own account information and keep your password secure.
- Do not interfere with the site, bypass access controls, or attempt to use another person's account.
- Do not use the service in a way that could damage the app or the third-party data sources it depends on.
External sources and links
Some route information originates from third-party trail sources, and some ads or links may send you to outside sites. Those sites control their own content, availability, and policies.
Trails can link back to source material when available, but that does not guarantee the source is current, complete, or safe for your specific trip.
Updates to the terms
These terms can change as the beta changes. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the current version posted here.
