Park at the Sequoia Arena Parking Lot on Skyline Blvd. Start by heading down the paved road to Sequoia Bayview Trail. This is an easy, mostly-flat doubletrack used as a connector trail. After a couple of miles, turn left on Big Trees Trail.

The trail starts to climb, although it's not too steep and pretty short. Soon, you'll reach a huge hill covered in rocks. On the right is an easier bypass for climbing. After passing the hill, you'll shortly reach a paved road. This is a good bail-out section if the climb was too hard or rocky. If not, then continue right to the Redwood Fern Parking Lot. Follow the trail until it turns right back into the park. Drop in, and enjoy the fun downhill.

After more downhill (and some uphill), you'll reach a fork with Sequoia Bayview Trail and Palos Colorados Trail. If you are adventurous, take a shot at Palos Colorados Trail. The more recommended route, however, is turning back onto Sequoia Bayview Trail and doing Big Trees Trail again, as much as you want.
The appropriately named Big Trees Trail.
