Start at the Curry Point parking area on South Gate Road. Take the fire road that heads east and take the first left. The fire road is a steady and easy descent into Curry Canyon. Public access ends at the park boundary at a gate with a private property sign. As of 2014 the adjoining property is owned by Save Mount Diablo and will eventually become part of the park but, for now, public access is not permitted.
