This trail starts out at the Black Mountain Trailhead Parking Area. Head east and climb up a gravel doubletrack to the start of Miners Ridge Loop.

The trail signs point you in the counter-clockwise direction. From here, its a switchback, rocky climb to the intersection of the Glider Point Trail. Curving to the left from here, the trail traverses the side of the mountain before intersecting with a spur trail to Nighthawk Trail, staying to the left you'll start the descent down some stair-step drops and some fast singletrack.

Eventually, you'll pass two viewpoints before you roll back down the mountain. Along the descent, there will be another set of stair steps before circling back to the start of the Miners Loop. Descend the gravel doubletrack to the parking lot.

Additions to this trail are to take the Glider Point Trail from the Black Mountain Trailhead Parking Area to the Glider Point parking lot. Also, taking the spur trail to Nighthawk Trail opens up the mountain to many other trails.
This particular intersection is on a DH section of trail, and while marked, it is easy to miss at speed. Turn right to depart the singletrack for the fire road to the summit.
Some of the rock features found on the Miner Ridge Loop provide quite a challenge.
