Even though this trail doesn't stray far from highway 20 for long. it has very nice flow with several s-turn rhythym sections mixed in with short technical root patches, rollers and optional lines with kickers and berms. The most heavily used section is between Harmony Ridge Market and White Cloud Fire Station, but that is also one of the most flowy sections. The grade is gradual and most people ride as an out an back. It's close to Scott's Flat Lake Trail so many work a portion of Pioneer in with a Scott's descent.

There is trail parking at Harmony Ridge Market, White Cloud, Equestrian overlook, Skillman, and the Alpha Omega Vista. There are lots of trail markers along the way and even posted on some trees. Sometimes it's just a forestry logo and other times it's a directional sign. It's not easy to get lost as the trail always parallels the highway. The majority of the traffic on the trail is mountain bikes, but occasionally you'll come upon horses -- especially if you are near Skillman horsecamp.
