This trail is a connector between Nimitz Way Trail, at the top of the ridge, and Wildcat Creek Trail, at the bottom of the canyon. From Nimitz Way Trail, it starts as a wide gravel road that heads up a short, steep grade to a viewpoint looking east towards Mt. Diablo. The road swings to the northwest and, before reaching a cattle gate, look for the viewpoint bench on the hill to the left. This is one of the best panoramas of the San Francisco Bay.

Past the gate, the road isn't regularly graded is a bit more like a singletrack. Unfortunately, it's a cattle grazing area and the trail gets trampled and beat-up especially after wet weather. The trail then follows an open ridge with views to the west and north. After a final hill climb, it's all downhill to the Wildcat Creek Trail. The last half-mile past the power lines is step and winding so watch your footing as there's another cattle gate at the Wildcat Creek Trail junction.
