Norred Trail

Overview

Norred Trail starts from Mine Trail, near suburban south San Jose, close to the edge of Santa Teresa County Park.

Norred Trail begins by going around a cluster of off-limits out buildings that are part of the old Buck Norred Ranch, a horse ranch that used to take people on horseback rides through Santa Teresa Park as part of its operations. This section of the trail is wooded and flat, with the Norred Ranch out buildings to the right of the trail.

Not far from its trailhead, Norred Trail turns right as it crosses a stream area, to continue behind Norred Ranch, where it climbs out of the woods, into grass-covered hills.

About 0.3 miles from its trailhead, Norred Trail leaves Norred Ranch behind. The rest of Norred Trail is fairly flat, as it goes along a grass hillside, that slopes down to suburban south San Jose on the right. To the left of the trail, one looks up at a grass-covered hillside. Norred Trail ends at Joice Trail, near the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch and entrance to Santa Teresa Park.
