This 1.7-mile singletrack trail leads you across the park from the Winslow Street access gate to a similar gate on Prospect Avenue in Port Costa. Be aware that there's only limited parking below the Winslow Street gate. If all the spots are full, you can continue into the park on Carquinez Scenic Drive and park at the Eckley Pier Parking Area.

From the Winslow Street gate, the trail traverses beautiful bluffs that offer plenty of scenic views of the Carquinez Strait. After roughly a half mile, the trail exits the trees onto tarmac near Eckley Pier Parking Area.

From here, it continues across the tarmac to be resumed part-way around the paved loop. The trail continues up and out of the Eckley Pier basin to resume fantastic views of the water along coastal bluffs. But water isn't the only thing you'll see in this area: if you're lucky, you just might share the pastoral hillsides with herds of cows.

Upon reaching a fork in the trail, stay right to remain on the correct trail, as left will lead you onto the Carquinez Overlook Loop Trail. Continue on the trail until it ends into Prospect Avenue.
Walking along the bluffs of the Bull Valley Trail, it will feel like you're traversing a giant green ocean.
