Old Homestead Trail

Overview

Not much to describe. An almost flat fire road up a typical East Bay canyon. Runs along the margin between forest along the creek and grasslands upslope. Shaded much of the way depending upon sun angle.

Departs from a trailhead parking lot. Dead-ends not far up canyon currently (although East Bay Regional Parks has territory beyond in its land bank so hope this will extend further up-canyon and connect through in the future).

Its low slope makes it a fit place for people to give it a try in combination with the various flat trails around the lake into which the creek flows just down canyon.
