Valley Oak Trail goes from the drive-in campground area to the boat launch area. It parallels the road but is far enough from the road to not see or hear it. It is a very pretty trail through the woods and meadows with wildflowers in the spring. Basically flat, it is very easy to hike and is great for families with little kids.

To find Valley Oak Trail, from the drive-in campground, take Campground Trail for 0.2 miles to Valley Oak Trail. Turn right onto Valley Oak Trail. Almost immediately, Valley Oak Trail enters the sunlit woods and winds through them. Ohlone Trail leads to the popular boat launch and picnic area, 0.2 miles away.

Shortly after passing Ohlone Trail, Valley Oak Trail ends at Calaveras Trail.
