Providencia Trail starts at a sharp bend in Mine Hill Trail, 2.5 miles from the McAbee entrance to Quicksilver Park. It begins in a heavily wooded area. Soon the woods give way to lower brush. Views of Guadalupe Reservoir below, and the Santa Cruz Mountains can be seen to the right of the trail.<br><br>At the 0.4-mile mark of Providencia Trail, Enriquita Trail is passed on the right. Providencia Trail continues on, and begins to gradual climb through a mix of brush and grass, with more views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. A few hundred yards after going around a U-turn bend, Providencia Trail rejoins Mine Hill Trail about 3.2 miles from the McAbee entrance to Quicksilver Park.
