Clews Views Ridge

Overview

This trail has views of Clews Ranch and the Katz property in Shaw Valley. Along the way, hikers will pass next to the grave site of Anton Knechtel (1823 - 1930), an early farmer on the land now owned by Katz. The Knechtel family was involved in the agricultural development within Carmel Valley, McGonigle Canyon, and Shaw Valley. The grave site was Anton Knechtel's favored location from which to view his property.
