To get to the start of this trail, park at the Coe Ranch Headquarters parking lot at the end of Dunne Avenue. The drive up is winding and narrow, with some great scenery. From here, take the road to Manzanita Point, which is on your left as you enter the Ranch, across from the first parking area. The road passes through a gate and turns to dirt on the other side. In about a mile, pass the intersection with Hobbs Road, staying right. In another .2 miles you'll reach the intersection with Flat Frog which is well-marked on the left-hand side.

Flat Frog Trail is a pleasant and relatively easy trail. The grades are gentle and the going is pretty smooth most of the way. The trail connects from the Forest Trail, Corral Trail Fish Trail, and Spring Trail in the south to the Frog Lake Trail in the north where you can connect to the Middle Ridge Trail. When you get to Hobbs Road at the end of the trail, a left turn returns you to the Coe parking lot, and a right takes you up to Middle Ridge Trail.
