Starting from Skyline Boulevard, the unpaved Ward Road meanders through oak groves and grasslands with fine views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. <br><br>At the junction with Long Ridge Road, Ward Road turns southwest and continues through a mix of oaks, grasslands, and chaparral until it reaches the boundary between Long Ridge Open Space and Portola Redwoods State Park, where it becomes the Ward Truck Trail.
