This connector trail goes uphill.<br><br>From the Prospect #3 Trail junction with New Almaden Trail, grass hills dotted with trees are climbed. After about .2 miles, the Randol Trail junction is reached. Crossing Randol Trail, Prospect #3 Trail continues uphill through the grass hills until the last 1/3 mile when the trail enters woods. The terrain is steep enough in these woods that the final section is a series of switchbacks. The trail emerges from these woods at its junction with Mine Hill Trail.<br><br>Views from San Francisco/Oakland down to San Jose and further south can be seen from the open areas.
