This trail appears to be an easement almost entirely through private property, making it relatively unique in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is one of the longer singletracks in the East Bay area as well. The trail is often missed by most, and all of these aspects make for a unusually surprising experience of country solitude in the midst of a megalopolis of some seven million people.

There are too many gates and twists and turns to mark, so you have to keep your wits about you at some junctures to stay on the right path. But after that, it is mostly downhill with twists and turns into and out of draws followed by long straightaways through somewhat overgrown trail.
