Tucked out of sight of most homes, you can almost forget you are in a monotonous terracotta roof-sprawl of suburbia. The trail entrance sign from the Grand Del Mar golf course, midway along the trail, marks it as "strenuous" but that is more a reflection on the type of guest at their resort than any particular difficulty.
