Skyline Trail: Fish Ranch Rd - Steam Trains

Overview

This segment of the East Bay Skyline Recreation Trail and Bay Area Ridge Trail connects Fish Ranch Road with the Steam Trains at Lomas Cantadas Road at the south end of Tilden Regional Park. Starting this segment at Fish Ranch Road, the trail climbs vigorously up a west-facing hillside until it reaches the elevation of an adjacent water reservoir tank. Then it contours along a hillside and passes the top of De Laveaga Trail before resuming its climb to Tilden's Steam Trains. There is no parking at Fish Ranch Road. Trail users crossing Fish Ranch Road should beware of vehicle traffic while using the painted crosswalk. There is free parking in several lots near the north end of this trail at the Steam Trains.
