Overview
From the main parking lot, head towards the lake and turn right on the obvious trail. Enjoy the water birds that hang out at the lakeshore. <br><br>After starting just above the level of the lake, you rise to a commanding view of the lake. At about a mile in, you pass the Mt. Woodson Trail. Continue north along the lakeshore and after another third of a mile you come parallel to the dam.<br><br>The trail drops below the dam from here and enters a live oak forest. Pass an access road and rise back up the hill. An extra loop heads off right, but continue along until you are soon back where you started.
