This is a cool route but it is not for the faint of heart. I'd have been reluctant to try it if I hadn't been with an experienced hiking group that had done it before. Those sensitive to heights or some exposure should take proper precautions or look elsewhere.<br><br>At the end of this trail, catch the El Cajon Mountain Summit Trail and go another 0.5 miles to summit El Cajon Mountain. If you set up a car shuttle, you can return on the El Cajon Mountain Summit Trail, for a total distance of 9.5 miles.
