Army Pass Trail

Overview

This trail starts on New Army Pass on the Sierra Crest with views of the Rock Creek drainage to the west. New Army Pass is also the starting point for climbs to Mount Langley to the north via the Mount Langley Army Pass Route or Cirque Peak Army Pass Route to the south.

From the pass, descend toward Rock Creek over a barren landscape. At about a mile and half, you re-enter the forest, and at about two miles you pass the terminus of the Siberian Pass Trail.

Continue heading north and then west, following Rock Creek until you reach the junction with the Pacific Crest Trail. After a steep initial descent, the trail will mellow into more relaxed grades in the later portion.
