Historic Trail

Overview

Beginning from a small, easily accessible wooden staircase at Stanyan and 17th, Historic Trail is a great starting point for a hike on Mt. Sutro. Verdant, lush, and lovely throughout the year, it's a perfect place to enjoy some wilderness without even leaving the city. <br><br>Historic Trail intersects or meets up with Fairy Gates, Edgewood, West Ridge, South Ridge, and Quarry Road trails, making it easy to reach the summit or create your own loop hike. It is often muddy, especially after wet weather, so plan footwear accordingly!
