Tom Sawyer Loop

Overview

A singletrack trail that flows around Tom Sawyer Lake in Golden Hills. Once part of the old GHCC (Country Club) golf course property, now owned by Golden Hills CSD. A decent alternate starting point to enter the Greenbelt as well, as there is plenty of parking and multiple entrances.

GHCSD just opened this land up for non-motorized public use (legally) in August 2016. Hopefully they will make some improvements to it in the next few years.

BEWARE: It can be smelly when the lake is really low. Wildlife is often seen here, too. Deer and the occasional bobcat are the most frequent inhabitants, but there are stories of bears and mountain lions as well.

Be careful and respectful. Horseback riders also frequent this area as the stables are less than a mile away.
