Dry access option: From Big Tujunga Rd. turn onto Oro Vista Ave, cross the bridge, and begin the steep paved climb up past the gate. The neighborhood provides gracious easement to cyclists, hikers, and equestrians seeking access to the local trail heads. Stay on Oro Vista as it drops down into Doane Canyon and merges to climb with Doane Canyon Rd. <br><br>Wet access option: Before the bridge on Oro Vista Ave, leave the pavement and go right past the boulders onto Doane Canyon Rd. The crossing is generally smooth, though it can get deep. Doane Canyon Rd. climbs abruptly up the canyon to the junction with Oro Vista Ave, passing the husks of burned-out cars and other canyon detritus. <br><br>The beginning of Ebey Herreres Truck Trail is marked by a big, yellow arrow so it's difficult to miss. Now the doubletrack mellows, following the contour of the mountain and dipping into little glens on its way to Larsen Saddle. As the road climbs, it passes the upper (west) trailhead of Ebey Canyon Tr. Larsen Flat saddle junction connects several local fire roads as well as the top of Doc Larsen Tr. <br><br>From Larsen Flat, Ebey Herreres TT climbs steeply northwest to the junction with Forest Route #3N30, which continues to climb forever up the Yerba Buena Ridge and eventually down to the Gold Canyon Saddle. Keep left at the junction to stay on EHTT and begin the steep, wild descent towards Little Tujunga. Wide road grade has narrowed over time to a chunky, brushy singletrack. Watch out for a gated fence just above the private property and make sure to leave it as you found it. <br><br>You can ride through the private/commercial properties all the way to Little Tujunga road, or go left on BP&L Rd. to connect Oliver Canyon Road and make a loop back up to Larsen Flat.
