Starting at Three Points, the Silver Moccasin Trail has some of the best singletrack in the Angeles National Forest. The section from Three Points to Christian Camp is relatively flat and an easy pedal. After Christian Camp it begins to get fun and is a fast, flowy descent to Bandito Camp and then to Horse Flats with some climbing in between. After Horse Flats campground, the trail gets even more fun with lots of chunky rock and water-bars in the descent to Chilao/ 3N14 junction. If you are doing the Mt Hillyer Loop, you'll want to turn right here.

After Chilao, the next section links up to Vetter Mountain. There is one fast and loose descent, but be aware that there is also a nasty road climb in between the two. This section has seen major impacts from the station fire. Nearly all of the trees are dead, and deadfall is a common problem on trail. Riders will also see lots of poodle dog bush.

Once you reach the Vetter/Charlton Flats area, the descent to Big Tujunga Creek is one of the most fun in the San Gabriel Mountains, if you like it rough and rowdy. After reaching Big Tujunga Creek, there is a spur trail that goes up to Big Tujunga Canyon road, while the main trail climbs out to the Angeles Crest Highway. After crossing the ACH, the trail descends a short section to a fire road. Make a right on this dirt road, then go a few hundred feet and look for the trail on the left. Next the trail descends shortcut canyon down to West Fork Campground in the canyon north of Mt Wilson.
Switzer Picnic Area.
From this point up, trees blocking the trail constantly. People have trimmed them slightly so you can hike-a-bike and get all the way through. Needs to be cleared.
A clear section without steps or boulders. But wait, there's more...
Some trees survived
Big, doable obstacles and steeps
Silver Moccasin Tr between Christian Camp and Three Points is beautiful and fun, if often overlooked, out-and-back section of trail.
