West Observatory Trail

Overview

The West Observatory Trail begins as it turns left from the Observatory Trails Connector just before the turn for the East Observatory Trail. Follow the trail to the northeast as it winds its way up the hillside, utilizing a couple of switchbacks in the first 3/10 of a mile of being on trail. After hiking for another 3/10 of a mile, the trail will bend toward the south and reach a juncture with the East Observatory Trail. At this point, the two trails merge and continue eastward as the East Observatory Trail, thus the West Observatory Trail ends here. You can return along the same route or link up with the East Observatory Trail to extend your hike.<br><br>Thanks to John McKinney, The Trailmaster, for sharing this trail description.
