This spur road off of the Mt. Lowe Road #2N50 starts at a saddle where there is a junction with the Middle Sam Merrill Trail 12W14.2 and the Idlehour Trail 12W16. It gently rises for 0.2 miles and reaches Inspiration Point and a junction with the Castle Canyon Trail #12W28. There is a restored shaded overlook with picnic tables, historical exhibits, and spotting scopes. It continues contouring around the north side of Mt. Muir and comes to a junction with the Muir Peak Trail in 0.7 mile. The road continues heading southeast then makes a bend around the ridge and turns south ending at Panorama Point which has good views of the San Gabriel Valley.<br><br>This road is mostly commonly used to connect the Middle Sam Merrill Trail 12W14.2 with the Castle Canyon Trail #12W28. Also called "One Man and a Mule Trail", it was the site of a short railway with a mule pushing a car carrying visitors from Inspiration Point to Panorama Point.
